Keith Barton
Author | Advocate | Congressional Candidate
Keith Barton is a 20 year Marine Corps veteran, former military aviator, author, congressional candidate, and advocate for family court reform who brings an unusually broad range of real world experience to a conversation.
His career has taken him from military aviation and overseas service to business operations, public policy, writing, and politics. Today, Keith develops legislative proposals focused on government efficiency, veterans, workforce development, stronger families, and reforming how Congress itself operates. At the center of that work is the American Lean Act, a proposal for a new operating system for Congress built around measurable results, fiscal discipline, government efficiency, and continuous improvement rather than simply creating more programs and spending more money.
His advocacy for family court reform is also personal. After years navigating a complex interstate custody dispute, Keith represented himself on appeal and won a published decision from Florida’s First District Court of Appeal addressing domestic violence evidence in custody proceedings. That experience became part of his larger effort to improve how family courts protect children and parents.
Outside politics and policy, Keith is a prolific author whose work ranges from children’s books to military thrillers, science fiction, and other fiction inspired by his experiences and interests.
